Bed & breakfast is hot: 60% more visitors on Bedandbreakfast.eu

EINDHOVEN, 03/01/14 – Bed & breakfast has had a worldwide breakthrough as a trendy and high-quality type of accommodation. Bedandbreakfast.eu, the world’s largest B&B website, presented fantastic growth rates over 2013: 58% more unique visitors than in 2012 and a double amount of bookings. Site manager Bed & Breakfast Europe expects that in 2014, B&B’s will only become increasingly more popular.

After a steady growth from the start in 2009, Bedandbreakfast.eu has undergone a genuine growth spurt. In June 2013, the website – which up until then had only operated within Europe – spread its wings worldwide. The number of bed & breakfasts on the website quadrupled from about 55,000 to almost 220,000 B&B’s. The number of reservation requests and bookings doubled.

Bed & breakfast ever more popular|

The positive figures show that bed & breakfast is becoming an ever more well-known and popular type of accommodation around the world. The quality and professionalism of B&B continues to increase. The majority of accommodations now offer plenty of privacy (private sanitary, private entrance), turning them into serious competition for hotels. In addition, B&B’s offer an excellent value for money.

Spending the night at locals

In a bed & breakfast you stay with locals: the best way to get to know a region. When you’ve visited a B&B, you come home with a story. You are welcomed by the owner and spend the night at extraordinary locations. In the morning you enjoy a home-made breakfast, often with regional products. We often hear: “A hotel is always the same, a bed & breakfast is more special.” This awareness process is still in full progress. And therefore, Bed & Breakfast Europe is convinced that the popularity of B&B’s will only increase further in 2014.
